Applying for a disabled parking permit
Do you have difficulty walking and would you like to apply for a disabled parking permit? If so, you can arrange this through your local council.
When might you be eligible?
You may be able to apply for a disabled parking permit if, due to an illness or disability, you are unable to walk independently for more than approximately 100 metres over a long period of time. National rules apply in this regard.

Applications via the local authority
You can apply for a disabled parking permit from your local council. The council will assess your application. This often requires a medical examination by an independent doctor.
